你是否曾想对街道上的失明人士伸出援手，但却感到无从下手？你是否曾希望自己可以协助轮椅使用者登上阶梯，但碍于担心弄巧反拙而停在原步？你是否曾想过与残疾人士建立友谊，但却因种种原因而没有勇气开口？

由美门残障关怀基金会主办的《阳光天使志工培训营》，正可协助你达成履行志工服务的心愿。今年，培训营的主题为《感。动》，主要是因为社会民众一般对于残障群体的关怀与协助意愿只停留在“感觉”，却没有平台可协助他们“行动”。
《第8届〈感。动〉阳光天使志工培训营》落在5月4日至6日（星期五至日），在吉隆坡Archdiocesan Pastoral Center (APC)中心，（地址 : Jalan Robertson, Off Jalan Pudu, K.L.）举行。

长达3天2夜的培训营的宗旨是为了提升社会人士对残障群体的认识与关怀，并且更有系统化地培训志工，教导他们照顾残障群体的正确技巧，以保障残障人士及志工本身的安全。

今年培训营也特别邀请了多位本地艺人前来助阵。歌手阿牛陈庆祥将担任此届生活营的“爱心大使”，而天使阵容则包括主播叶剑峰、歌手薇薇、歌手阿飞、歌手饶燕婷、歌手张起政、歌手马家轩、歌手可晴、歌手苏盈之、歌手友娣、艺人林静苗、MYFM DJ Jeff陈浩然 ，颜美恩、艺人吴维彬。他们将与营员分享志工服务经验。

此外，培训营期间，营员将有机会与残友有切身的交流，了解他们在生活上的不便之处及所需要的协助。同时，营员们更可争取机会在现场实践所学的技巧知识。

此培训营公开给18岁或以上的公众人士参加。收费分为成人（每人130令吉）及学生（110令吉），此费用包含报名费、T-恤一件、讲义、住宿、伙食等。参与者必须于5月4日傍晚6时至7时之间到会场报到。

Be An Angel Campaign aims to provide an unforgettable experience for the able-bodied and the physically challenged to live together for three (3) days two (2) nights. Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled had successfully organized this camp for the seventh (7) years and this could not be realized without the kind contribution from the kind hearted over the years. We wish to express our thankfulness for all the contributions.

This year, the “Be An Angel Campaign 2012” will be held from 4th to 6th May 2012 in Archdiocesan Pastoral Center (APC), Kuala Lumpur. The objective of this camp is to educate and equip the participants with the correct skills so that they are better trained to assist the disabled people in the future.

The theme chosen for this year is “Touch-Ing”. The main reason we chose ‘Touch’ as our theme is because we wish to touch the participant’s heart towards the disabled community so that they can understand disabled person more and equip them with the skills needed to help the disabled friends to take their first step in extending their helping hand towards the disabled community around them. We hope to achieve an integration from the community by first stepping out from their comfort zone and join this camp.

Apart from the kind support from the public, local artists did their part in supporting us too. Among the local artists are Ah Niu, Owen Yap, Wei Wei, Lin Jing Miau, DJ Jeff and Rao Yen Ting. They will join as the speaker or performer for the camp.

美门关怀基金会在2011年11月27日举办一年一度的国际残障日，今年的主题是推广无障碍旅游设施醒觉运动。

亚洲七国残障团体参与“无障碍旅游”系列活动，逾百公众人士与残障人士齐步6公里轮椅大游行，推广无障碍旅游设施醒觉运动！

残障人士在市民协助推动轮椅下，上午齐朝往双溪威地带的街道进发，沿途缓缓移步，为期盼国家提升残障设施关怀及醒觉意识，共同完成游行壮举。

由美门关怀残障基金会联合梳邦再也市议会、日本国际协力机构与Heap Hope Angels及多个残障团体，举行全程6公里长轮椅游行，预计约1小时半完成。

活动吸引亚洲各国残疾团体，包括日本、新加坡、台湾、泰国、香港及印度，连同本地残疾人士及公众，逾200人于上午在双威金字塔购物广场外启程。

美门残障关怀基金会总干事谢秀贞指出，许多人可能以为残障人士需要无障碍设施是额外的开销，但其实无障碍设施不仅对乐龄人士、病患或弱势群体带来帮助，也包括正在康复的伤者也有需要使用到这些设备。

她例举，西方一些国家也提供残疾人士无障碍设备便利，是残疾人士出外旅游，也只能局限于有无障碍设备的地点，反观我国仍未正视残疾群体的需要。

“我们终有一天也会变老，但仍有多个国家及社会大众对残障群体的觉醒意识，却是非常簿弱。”

她也呼吁私人机构及政府领域投资无障碍设施建设，从中也能够促进国家无障碍旅游发展，这也是国家应在未来探讨的发展发向。

活动出席者有香港国际復康总会国际科技与无障碍设施委员会全球总会主席关国乐、美门残障关怀基金会代表黄慧基、赞助者李慧玲及卢冠诚、梳邦再也市议员拉吉夫等等。

刘天球代表雪州政府拨款1万令吉给美门关怀残障基金会，李慧玲及卢冠诚也共同捐献1万令吉款项给该会。

马来西亚基督教卫理公会华人年议会副主席周道惠会上致词时，希望雪州及中央政府照顾弱势群体的需要，冀雪州成为推动无障碍设施建设的州属。

此外，他也期盼第二吉隆坡国际机场建设，将附有利于残疾人士使用的基设便利。

We’ve had a very successful camp last year with around 150 volunteers and participants and we are back to bring more Fun and Challenges while doing our part for the children. Those who have participated in our activities would know very well that our programs are simply fantastic and everyone will have a good splendid time.

This year we are targeting 200 participants.

The world is mobilizing to help victims of Friday’s 8.9-magnitude earthquake that unleashed a devastating tsunami on Japan. As nations around the world offered monetary aid, condolences and rescue teams, many people around the world are seeking ways to ease the burden on the Japanese government and people.

“However not many people can effort to contribute by giving monetary aid, especially the disabled community which consists of low income group” said Pastor Sia Siew Chin, Executive Director of Beautiful Gate Foundation For The Disabled.

“They have the hunger in helping, but just could not fulfill their heart desire to give more. ”

Hence, Beautiful Gate Foundation for the Disabled is organizing a recyclable items collection activity to assist the victims of this horrific tragedy. The press conference was attended by Mr. Lim Lip Suan, councilor from Majlis Perdandaran Klang and Ms Noriko, representative from Embassy of Japan.

“Disabled members in the centre will help to sort out things and do the sale. Total income generated from the recyclable items will be proceeding to the victims.” Samuel Siah, chairman of Beautiful Gate Klang Centre said.

The activity will start from April 1st to 30th; general public could contribute by bringing in their recyclable items to the collection centre located in Petaling Jaya, Klang and Kepong. Cash will also be accepted, all donation is tax exempted.
